As Vice President Director of Design for Jones New York Dress, Bunny Donahue has responsibility for the design and production of all dresses for the Jones New York brand. Although she travels to Europe to shop trends and to factories in Asia to oversee product development, hers is not the glamorous world of haute couture. Her goal is to produce quality dresses for the American working woman.
Bunny’s mother, a bit of a style icon during the 60’s and 70’s, shared her love of fashion with her daughter, teaching her the art of style and dressing. Bunny moved east from Ohio to pursue her education, landing in New York. She worked in retail before returning to school to pursue her dream of fashion design. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology, she worked in collection sportswear before landing a job in the dress market in the mid 1990s.
The fashion industry has all of the pressures that manufacturing businesses face. Through flexibility, creativity, and perseverance, Bunny has established herself as one of the top dress designers in her field. Her bottom line advice: always look fabulous and never take “no” for an answer.
